RoboMitra - A digital solution in the hand of young people facing or at risk of sexual abuse to seek support/help. Both girls and boys in India face abuse at home, in communities, in schools, on social media, and in any other digital communication such as email, chats, games, and comments on live streaming sites. Abuse happens when someone acts in a harmful way, causing someone else distress, and due to a lack of parental guidance, and safe space in the family adolescent often feels trapped and helpless. The App with a chatbot backed could support children in sharing their safety concerns and seeking support or guidance. It can also provide free legal information and advice for sexual assault victims with little knowledge of their rights.Many children in West Bengal and Jharkhand experience sexual abuse. Anecdotal evidence suggests that in the majority of cases, the child knows the abuser. This often leads to mental health issues and can push children to migrate as a coping mechanism to escape the distressing conditions where they live. This Android App has been developed with an AI-backed virtual chat assistant. It is specifically built for children and adolescents facing and at risk of sexual abuse and violence and helps them to express themselves without any fear. The app can be promoted as a tool to track menstrual flow among girls, and mental health issues among both boys and girls along with a chatbot that will help children overcome challenging situations associated with abuse via counseling support.
